New York sales tax is 8.875% and collected on orders shipped to New York State.
SHIPPING & HANDLING COSTS
Shipping costs for orders shipped within the continental U.S. is based on the order amount and calculated automatically by the shopping cart.
$30 per item with tracking. USPS or Fedex Ground. Large or heavy orders may require additional fees.
*If a particularly large box is needed, this may require additional charge. You will be notified if this is the case.
Expedited Shipping
Expedited shipping is calculated after the order is packaged and is based on weight and destination. I will contact you with the exact shipping fees and verify the shipping address before we schedule the shipment. This will be charged separately via Paypal.

USA
Orders within the continental US are shipped via USPS with tracking and insurance. If you would like expedited shipping, please email me and I will gladly arrange that at an extra charge. Check-out your purchase at the current shipping price and I will charge you the difference separately once you have confirmed the new shipping method.
PLEASE NOTE that I do not ship to P.O. Boxes.
ALASKA, HAWAII and PUERTO RICO orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail. Priority Mail also includes tracking and insurance.
INTERNATIONAL
Currently not accepting online orders for shipping to international addresses. However - you can always email me at marite@mariteacosta.com and we can figure it out.

Continental US Shipping usually takes 2 to 7 business days.

Going Green
Whenever possible we will use recycled in-good-condition packaging. If this is a gift and you require new boxes, please contact me and we'll sort it out.
RETURNS, etc.
All measurements are approximate but mostly within 1/2". If you're uncertain of a size, I urge you to measure another similar piece you may have at home to get a proper perspective on a size. Keep in mind that all items are hand made and details will vary - even if the style is the same. I do my best to show this in the photos and descriptions. Feel free to ask specific questions though.
All sales are considered final. However, if you find there is a problem with your order please contact me by email at marite@mariteacosta.com so that we can find a solution. In the unlikely event of damage during shipment, it is important that you keep all of the original product & packaging and notify me within 2 days of receipt to arrange replacement or other solution.
STONEWARE/GLAZES/FOOD SAFETY
Please note, since all products are handcrafted, there may be slight variations in color, textures, finish and dimensions.
Each stoneware piece is either hand built or wheel thrown and loaded with beautiful imperfections. These are all part of what make each piece unique. All glazes used are lead free and food-safe. I often manipulate the glazes to achieve their final look. These manipulated glazes are generally not recommended as food safe and considered best for ‘decorative’ use. Be careful with highly staining foods on matte white pieces. Each piece is signed.
RECOMMENDED CARE
All of my ceramics are dishwasher safe, unless otherwise noted, though hand washing is what I recommend. Use a brush to clean out all the nooks and crannies from any food or dirt. They are microwave safe though I don't recommend this. Do not use in an oven unless the piece is stated for such use.
On many of our pieces the rims and bottoms are unglazed. All of the bottoms are unglazed and have a slightly rough texture, so take care when placing on your furniture. I do my best to make sure all pieces are completely sealed though occasionally a piece may feel a bit moist on the bottom. Consider placing a cloth between your piece and the furniture for this reason as well.
Many pieces are wafer thin, and while fired stoneware is strong, treat these with extra care.
CUSTOM ORDERS
I am able to take "some" custom orders. I have minimums and maximums - please email me to discuss. Custom orders take approximately 6- 8 weeks to complete. 50% deposit is due upon placing order, balance is due pre-shipment.
